When overhauling the cylinder-head assembly, replacing as many of the wear items as possible will simplify the reassembly and subsequent adjustments required to set up the valve gear correctly. The most vital items include valve guides (one of those parts that often is never given a second thought!), the collets, valve seals, the valves and valve springs.
Inspect the cam lobes for wear or damage, likewise the cam-chain, guides and tensioners.
