Drive shaft assemblies (especially Japanese engineered types) are both reliable and durable over the longer term, and of course avoid the need for constant lubrication and adjustment that chain drives require. But, at some point, the shaft will require re-shimming at the very least
Since the swing-arm really needs removing to check or carry out work on the drive-shaft assembly, why not take the opportunity to check all aspects of the linkage and pivot points of the swing-arm at the same time?
