Yamaha XS750 information

Yamaha XS750

The technically advanced ‘Triple’ so called because it had three cylinders was introduced in Japan in 1976 with wire wheels, and to the rest of the world in 1977 with cast wheels. Despite the exotic, for that time, double overhead cam 120 degree engine, the power of 64BHP was more touring than sports, this borne out by the choice of shaft final drive.

The bike was popular, but did suffer a few early gremlins, with the centre cylinder failing to run after a long wet ride, and the gearbox failing to deliver second gear if the change were hurried. It was and is a handsome machine, and was improved hugely when replaced with the 850cc version
