Suzuki VS700 information

Announced in 1986 the Suzuki VS700 intruder was below 750cc to circumvent the USA imports ban of 750cc motorcycles, this flawed protectionism instigated by the powerful Harley Davidson lobbyists.
The SOHC 45° V-twin was shaft-driven and was equipped with a hydraulic clutch. Cylinders sported four-valve heads with a reliable auto adjustment for the cam chains.
A handsome and well conceived custom cruiser, that although selling well, did not really threaten the Die Hard Harley enthusiast, who would choose the all American make even if it was neither as well built or as reliable! These models needing then and now a lot of service hours to keep them running correctly!
