The Valve Lifter should be replaced during the course of any engine rebuild. This is a precision part - you know the quality of this item will be 100%!
We recommend when replacing this item, you should consider a new cam chain and cam sprocket to make sure no damage occurs to the new parts, by old and worn out items.

It is not recommended to interface old worn items with new on the cam chain tensioner assembly.

I had old lifter valves and after several months delay in my work, they had expanded a bit, so I needed to buy those 4 new ones for a smoother fit, and I keep them in the shafts now while interrupting the work. I will have to recalculate the shims. The values are very different, but that is not a problem. The end result is not fully tested yet, but they seem to work fine for me.
