Damaged radiators and cooling components are never easy to repair. The results can be patchy and quite often lead to more leaks later, or worse, blockages!
Lime deposits are also difficult to remove, (present when incorrect coolant has been used) and reduce the efficiency of the radiator markedly. If the radiator is faulty then probably the hoses and thermostat may also require attention or replacement.
Sometimes the best option is simply to renew the radiator and as many of the ancillary items as you can afford, although expensive, it is a lot less than the damage caused by an overheating engine!
