The original finish on the carburettor is not easy to replicate during the refurbishment process. The zinc plating of parts, with the correct gold colour straw passivation is an art in itself, and although not expensive, this process can lead to essential parts being lost by the plating company - sometimes these parts are irreplaceable!
Perhaps an easier, less fraught solution is to simply buy a new, box fresh part that can be tuned correctly, will look superb and, importantly, save you the stress of trying make an old carburettor look and work like a new one!
Save money and personal stress levels by renewing rather than refurbishing. Don't forget to order new inlet manifold gaskets and seals or perhaps a new inlet manifold as well - it cost no more to ship a box full of parts than just one item after all!
The carburetor is the element of an engine for which gas is mixed with air so it will burn and supply the engine with power.
