Bearing, Crankshaft

The heart of the engine relies on the piston fitting to precise tolerances, no little end movement, and piston rings sealing correctly. The Crankshaft has to spin on it's bearings without play, the con-rods must have no up or down movement on their journals - in short everything regarding the hardest working assembly on the machine has to be mechanically perfect.
When rebuilding the engine, renewing as many parts as possible will help ensure that no worn or damaged components are inadvertently reinstalled, letting an otherwise perfect build become flawed.
