The camshaft, inlet and exhaust valve operate in a challenging environment, from a mechanical point of view, but providing the engine oil is changed at the correct service intervals with a new oil-filter, and good quality (fresh) fuel is used, then a long, reliable service life can be expected.
If however the units servicing schedule has been stretched or ignored, then you may well be requiring this component or possibly some of those listed below appertaining to the camshaft assembly.
