Yamaha YDS5 1967 USA information
Introduced to the European and USA market in 1967, the YDS5 addressed some of the reliability problems of the YDS3, power was up, and the torque curve imroved making the model easier to ride. ground clearance was increased and the wheelbase shortened slightly to improve steering response. The resulting machine made a fast and fine handling sports machine, and a lot of these found there way, not surprisingly, onto the race tracks of the world.
