SL70K1 U.S.A

The SL70KO model first launched in 1971 to feed the off road riding craze that had swept North America. Cycle World said of the SL70……”is an impressive off road machine”

The SL175KO was replaced in 1973 by the K12 model, this itself superseded by the XL70, a similar machine, in 1974.

Power was 5bhp for the 47mm x 41.4mm bore and stroke overhead camshaft engine.
Barrel was aluminium for weight saving. For the USA market the silencer had to have a spark arrester-an absolute necessity for riding in wooded areas, and was a legal obligation.

As usual with off-road Honda’s, considerable interest is evident by enthusiasts and collectors of vintage Honda’s, and in North America well restored models change hands for surprising sums of $Dollars!
