Yamaha TD3

Continuing to build over the counter race machinery capable of winning at the highest level, the 1972 TD3 gave an incredible 49BHP, more than the works Honda 250cc four of just 8 years earlier! This was the last of the Yamaha 250cc air cooled race machines, and utterly dominated club-mans classes and also won at international level, with works supported Yarno Saarinen and Rodney Gould battling it out for the World championship. One of the notable changes was the six speed box replacing the old five speeder, and the top speed increased to 138mph depending upon gearing. If you raced to win, there really was only one machine to have in 1972, the TD3!
