The cooling system is of paramount importance for reliability, if the water-pump impeller has become scaled up with lime and other contamination it will not be giving its best, and whilst flushing can improve matters, it may be better to fit this new impeller and ensure the coolant is always of the recommended type.

• A new impeller is less expensive than a costly engine rebuild.
• Order new fasteners and gaskets at the same time and complete the job with expert attention to detail.
