Launched in 1992 and produced until 2000, this 1100cc DOHC air-cooled machine was, like its smaller siblings, another great selling naked retro. The Zephyr concept was and is an ongoing success story for Kawasaki, and indeed the other big three who all have their own large capacity naked muscle bikes, traditionally air cooled with twin shock chassis.
The ZR1100 was capable of 140mph, for those strong enough to hold on, and gave superb mid range grunt that is so prevalent on two valve four cylinder engines.
So back to the future? It seems that way with these naked high performance retro muscle machines selling as well as ever!
