The cooling system is of paramount importance for reliability, if the thermostat has become scaled up with lime and other contamination it will not be giving its best, and whilst flushing can improve matters, it may be better to fit a new thermostat and ensure the coolant is always of the recommended type.

• Order new fasteners and gaskets at the same time and complete the job with expert attention to detail.
