Introduced in 1974 and running for 11 years, much like it’s smaller wheeled sibling the XL100, the XL125 evolved from the low upswept exhausts style, through to the Hi-line style, and Elsinore style fuel tanks. All models had the leading axle forks, a style that featured only on the later Xl100’s.
This XL125 was a full size machine, although still found favour with younger and lighter riders. It was perhaps the most popular choice for owners of Motor Homes, it’s relative light weight and four stroke dependability weighing in it’s favour.
Unlike the XL100, there was no XR competition version as far as we know, and certainly not in the USA .
