The GL1100 and GL1200 shaft drive transmission can be really hard on it's primary drive, that is why there are 12 of these shock absorbing rubbers used in the primary hub sprocket. If they show any signs of wear or general degradation, to save on expensive transmission failure parts later, replace these sooner rather than later, when the damage has already occurred!
