This four stroke replacement for the out going CR450 really changed the face of Moto-Cross and Enduro for good. The single cam, this to save weight, driving the four valve head ensured performance gave nothing away to the previous two strokes, in fact power became more usable with these tractable high compression engines.
Two strokes were fazed out only because they lacked the green credentials in today’s environmentally aware populous, and although that thrilling high pitched aural experience will soon be confined to history, these new generation of powerful four strokes, pioneered by Honda will more than make up for that loss!
