If the float is not set at the correct level, for example to low and the engine will suffer from fuel starvation, to high and the excess fuel will overflow form the overflow pipe.

Renewing these items will help avoid both of these options!

Renewing the other wear items at the same time will also improve performance and economy, such as the throttle valve, slow running and needle jets and especially this main jet - the most important jet in the assembly (although they are all important actually!).
