The valve rocker arm has a tough job, and eventually the case hardened tip will wear through, and your valves will no longer open correctly for optimum performance.

If you are already replacing your cam, then we do recommend new rockers as a matter of course. Like wise worn rockers can be indicative of worn or damaged cam lobes, so you may wish to check this out as well.
