The SP400 replaced the competent but dull SP370 in 1980, and although outwardly similar now gave a more competitive 30hp @ 8000rpm, matching Yamaha’s popular XT500. Weight remained the same at 126kg, giving this model brisk performance to match its well-sorted chassis.
