After disproving all the doubters about the effectiveness of competitive four stroke moto-cross machinery with the YZ400 of 1998, Yamaha took their wonderful five valve engine, lightened the already lightweight valves by making them out of titanium, and took this machine to an even higher level when launched in 2000!
The racing success of these fabulous five valve four strokes speaks for itself, leaving Yamaha once again proving themselves the most innovative motorcycle company in Japan, if not the World.
