Stop leaks easily

This valve is small but very important part. A fuel cock have to be leak proof, particularly if your needle valve in the carb is not. If you don't ride very often your bike but let some fuel in the tank, it is a good thing to have no leaks. A new rubber valve in the petcock is a good security.
