Modern unleaded petrol is no help to running classic (or modern for that matter!) machinery. It leaves a thick varnish on anything it makes contact with causing gumming up and component deterioration. This important petrol cock fuel Valve is one of those items that suffer from the effects mentioned. It is easier and less troublesome to simply renew this part whenever the old item becomes clogged, worn and degraded.

    I ordered 2 of these valves for my cafe racer. The petcocks that came with my fuel tank were in a poor condition. After ultrasonic cleaning and bead blasting I replaced all seals and the valve. The steel parts were re-plated.

    My petcocks are like new again. I am not sure how the guys at CMS condition these rubber valves, but they certainy do a good job. The rubber is like new, not hardened or aged at all.
