The upper casing assembly is as well engineered as the rest of the superb Yamaha marine engine components, but, as with all mechanical parts working in a harsh, corrosive environment, it will eventually require refurbishment using new replacement components and fasteners.
The spares situation remains surprisingly good, for now at least, a testament to the longevity and enduring popularity of the type of engine this component fits.
