It is fair to say front fork assembly's take a lot of punishment, working hard all the time as they do causing bush wear, stanchions chipped or corroding, spring weakening and tired dampers. All in all a bit of a nightmare? And if the machine has been involved in a collision add bent fork-tubes that list!
The easy, but costly way to restore forks is to buy a complete new assembly, but if you can't run to that or don't need to, then most, if not all of the subcomponents are available - see the list below for parts you may require whichever course of action you decide on:
