Although guilty of over ‘Americanisation’ the styling is actually rather cute, and was aimed by Honda for their Japanese home market well known for their penchant for vintage products. The SRX50 Shadow as it is known in Europe and Joker in Japan has a 41.1mm bore with 39mm stroke giving a swept volume of 49cc. Its compression ration of 6.9:1 adds up to 4.5hp @ 6000rpm. Oddly the model is only sold in the U.K as a grey import, maybe Honda think the ‘Brits’ are too conservative for this stylised design. The number seen on the city streets of London and elsewhere may prove that Honda, this time at least got their marketing strategy wrong! And although looking like a marriage between a Vespa and a Harley, this model was never exported to the USA either.
