Renewing all the other components that make up the Valve train assembly will give a more satisfactory outcome.
Interfacing new parts with old will cause the new parts to wear prematurely and may lead to an unpleasant and noisy assembly. Pay particular attention to the Valve guides for wear - the prime cause for smoke from the exhaust on engine start ups!
