Footrest assemblies are vulnerable items, both to damage if the bike goes down and to wear from motorcycle boots continuously moving (as they should when pressing on!) over the wear prone areas. They are difficult items to refurbish as the soft alluminium parts tend suffer abrasion beyond repair. The easiest way to make the footrest assembly look good again is simple - replace it with new components and fasteners.
