Forks leaking oil past the seal is both unsightly and potentially dangerous. Most annual roadworthiness testers will fail the machine on this. Using genuine Yamaha seals will give the front forks the best possible chance of staying oil tight.
TIP: Use a knife sharpening stone to flatten off any pitting or rust on the fork tubes Using cheaper seals will lead to premature leaking and the frustration of stripping the assembly again!
