If you are removing the cylinder-head for a piston/valve/camshaft inspection, and possibly replacements of some or all of those parts, then why not check the crankshaft bearings for wear and/or scoring at the same time?
Consider replacing the main tightening bolts and nuts as the old ones will have stretched threads and be difficult to torque down correctly, and, of course, a new head gasket.
One last point, also check the oil-pump is in good shape to ensure your hard work does not unravel through lack of oil pressure.
