The carburettor/s on older classic machines can prove troublesome, old fuel that has turned into an unpleasant varnish coating the working parts, corrosion and even physical damage from previous owners who were not blessed with much mechanical sympathy!
Unless you are fortunate enough to drop onto new NOS carbs, your only choice is to rebuild the carbs with as many new parts as possible, and of course, that are still available.
