Normally a service is just an oil change and a new replacement filter - so far so good (well perhaps a new spark plug as well, oh and checking the valve clearances!).
If however you are rebuilding the engine, then carful inspection of the oil pump and oil cooler assemblies would well worth while. Any potential problems can be nipped in the bud with preventative maintenance, or replacement of a key component that is showing wear or damage?
