Little Honda

The Honda PC50 was second in the range of “Little Honda’s” that started with the P50 with its rear wheel mounted engine.
The PC50 kept Honda’s trademark four stroke overhead valve engine that was now hung in the more traditional place in front of the swing arm and “tuned up” to 1.8hp @ 5700 rpm.

When launched in 1969, the PC50 was extremely sophisticated and emulated many features of the successful Cub, such as a step-through pressed-steel frame, front and rear suspension, a fuel tank under the seat and optional leg shields. Designed to appeal to all – including the women that motorcycle manufacturers habitually ignored – the concept help promote the strapline “You meet the nicest people on a Honda”.

Whilst the original P50 is the among the most collectable Honda Mopeds, this PC50 is also highly desirable. As the model was only produced for two years and finding spare parts has become increasingly difficult so always look for a complete example when you’re hunting for one.

The PC50 was subsequently followed by hugely popular models such as Novio, Amigo and Express.
