Kawasaki Recalls 2009-10 Ninja 250s

The NHTSA has announced a recall for the popular Kawasaki Ninja 250R. The recall, issued by Kawasaki, potentially affects 259 units of the 2009-2010 model years of the entry-level sportbike. The problem is a potential leak in the engine case, which could deposit oil on the rear tire.

A cursory glance at the little Ninja and it s easy to mistake for its bigger supersport sibling.

The specifics of the NHTSA report state: “A small number of upper engine cases for the affected model could have porosity in the aluminum casting. This porosity occurs in the vicinity of a pressurized oil passage just above the transmission output shaft.”
