How did you first get involved in road racing?

It was my father's fault back then.

Which rider did you have the best battles with on the track?

If I had to name one, Niccolò Canepa.

Best motorcycle you've ridden and why?

The Ducati 1098R, simply an amazing machine to race with.

Favorite Circuit you have raced?

Brands Hatch, in my opinion, the most natural and craziest track I’ve ever ridden on.

What is the strangest or most hilarious experience you've had in racing?

Winning the FIM EWC world title in 2022.

Do you have a special memory of racing in the Netherlands?

CMSNL is based in the Netherlands
Absolutely, I managed to get several podiums and wins there! Assen was my home race!

What is the best thing you've gained from racing?

That giving up is not an option!!

What did you do after your active road racing career ended?

Continue to believe in my own abilities, getting the most out of the experiences I gained from racing.

Are you still involved in the sport in any way?

Definitely, every day alongside my passion for Belgian chocolate.

Which current or past motorcycle would you like to ride?

My Ducati 1098R.

For which current rider do you have a lot of respect and why?

Marc Márquez. Everything he’s been through, where he’s come from, and what he’s already achieved again. You can only have immense respect for that!

Who do you see as the greatest upcoming road racing talent and why?

Same answer as above.

Who will be the 2024 MotoGP & WorldSBK world champions?

Jorge Martin in MotoGP, Toprak Razgatlioglu in WorldSBK.

With your experience, how do you view the current developments within international road racing?

I hope we don’t end up with a fully electric championship… that would ruin the sport!!!!
