Replacing the superb XR180, the 1980 Honda XR200 picked up the mantle where its predecessor left off.
Using the same single overhead camshaft two valve engine, with even more power and torque. It’s wide power band, nimble handling and bullet proof reliability ensured it’s success, and made it the bestselling machine of its type three consecutive years in North America, it’s primary market.
The XR200R had the same 195cc engine as the standard XR200, however the R version had some major advantages such as Pro-Link rear suspension and heavier duty frame and forks which made the enduro machine a lot tougher. Having neither battery nor electric start, the lights shone only when the engine was running.
Like basically all Honda XR models, you can’t go wrong with a XR200 if you’re looking for a super reliable and easy to ride enduro bike!
