Bigger is better, at least that was what all the manufactures thought in the early 1980’s Yamaha pioneered the first across the frame 4 1100cc muscle bike with the XS1100, and all the other manufacturers dutifully followed, Honda with the CB1100F Super Sport in 1983. This 110bhp engine machine was right up their with the competition and sold well through it’s various incarnations and updates becoming a very different model by the turn of the Century, and at the time of writing looks set to make a return in 2009 with superb retro styling and a very handsome air cooled engine, such an important feature of these types of motorcycle
