XL100S 1983 (D) USA

info

Running from 1974, the KO model, until 1985, the XL100 used the superb single overhead camshaft engine from the CB100S. The early model ran the low and then upswept style of exhaust, that also acted as a spark arrester.

The Hi-line exhaust system was introduced from the 1977 model onwards. From 1983 the XL100 adopted leading axle front forks and an almost identical chassis to the competition version the XR100. This model also sported a fuel tank design based on the Elsinore style.

The XL100 ran, by Honda’s standards at least, for a long period of 11 years, but it did evolve and change considerably over it’s run, and buying spares can be a mine field if chassis numbers are not closely studied!
