The first generation V4 cruiser, the V45 magna was introduced in 1982. The engine was the double overhead camshaft 16 valve V-4, linked to a six speed transmission and hydraulic clutch with shaft final drive.
A milestone in the evolution of motorcycles, the V45's performance is comparable to that of Valkyries and Honda's 1800cc V-twin cruisers.
Styling of these early cruisers was a little awkward to say the least, but their superb build quality and user friendly handling won them over a new customer base, that by and large remained loyal to Honda’s take on what a custom cruiser should deliver, and Honda’s latest cruisers repay that loyalty with dividends!
The evolution of the VF750, the Magna 750 of 1994-2003 had the kind of jaw dropping styling so beloved by cruiser fans, and that V-4 still sounds glorious, whether in a custom cruiser or an RC30 from an earlier time!
