In 1986 Honda introduced both the VFR700 and the VFR750. The 700 was the 'tariff beater' introduced in the USA after powerful lobbying from Harley Davidson.
They were the same machine, with only the stroke of the engine and the price being different. The design was all new for 1986, with a smaller, lighter engine than its predecessor, with gear driven cams, producing 104bhp @ 10500rpm.
A superb sports cruiser, probably one of the finest ever made, and although weighing over 220kg, you would never notice on the road.
Another superb Honda built on the legacy of those superb gear driven cam-drive V-4 engines, and stiff aluminium frames with the trade mark single sided swing arm, and as with most great Honda’s finding good low mileage second models is getting increasingly difficult, as owners increasingly wish to hang on to these iconic sports machines!
