First launched in 1988, as the NT650 Hawk in the USA and the NT650 Bros in Europe, as a naked sports tourer. With a three valve single overhead cam liquid cooled V-twin engine putting out 58bhp, and weighing around 178kg, this was no slouch, not Sports Bike fast but still a high fun factor with one of the best handling chassis of the day.
The narrow angle V-twin engine was also very smooth thanks to offset crank pins and the carden shaft drive led naturally to the development of the Deauville, a fully equipped and fully faired touring machine, the popularity of which, particularly in Europe saw the model produced up until 2005.
Such is this models reputation and standing amongst serious touring riders, the second hand values remain sky high for good examples, and the pride of ownership generated in these high quality machines means most of them are in excellent shape.
