With 66bhp @ 11500 rpm the VF500F, called the “Interceptor” for the US market was manufactured from 1984 to 1986.

It was the first generation V-4, used in a square tube frame, gave good handling even with the then fashionable 16” front wheel. It was fitted with a half fairing and engine cowl,

The European VF500F2 model was fitted with a full fairing. The machine’s weight was par for the course for that time at 184kg (dry)

The same engine was also used in the custom version the Magna V30.
The VF500 was replaced in 1987 by the CBR600F.
