info

This disc valve two stroke single was introduced in 1967 in Japan for the 1968 model year.

The 169cc 62mm x 56mm bore and stroke engine produced a pretty impressive 19bhp @ 7300rpm. The obligatory Hi-Line exhaust was used for this impressive street scrambler, aimed at the North American and Antipodes market place.

Quality as with Kawasaki motorcycles in general was high, the only real problem was that the engine although powerful for it’s modest capacity had a pronounced power band, making it feel more like a road race engine than a trail bike unit!

By 1976, it’s final year, the F series had progressed into a much less powerful, but ultimately more user friendly machine, with a power delivery that was more gentle and less like a light switch, either on or off!
