Start of a trend for large naked touring muscle bikes. This air/oil-cooled model was outwardly similar to the GSX750, but with 100hp @ 8500 rpm, and still weighing a relatively light 211kg, was both quick, and with the smaller models fine handling. This model was also known as the Inazuma in some markets.
Introduced in 1998, and ran through until 2002, when its GSX 1400 replacement was launched, faster and stronger, but the handling was no match for the older lighter model!
