info

This Spanish built scooter started life as an air (fan) cooled high performance two stroke, when first launched in the early 1990’s. Subsequent models became liquid cooled, adding both power and quietness to package. Looming EU type three emissions laws meant the end of the road for two strokes, and the AY50 Katana four-stroke model replaced the two strokes at the turn of the Millennia.

The four stroke 50’s are produced as leaner legal machines for 16 year olds, and are usually restricted in power and speed depending in which country they are marketed.

The early two strokes were real flying machines, many race style parts offered by after market specialists, including bore up kits, race pistons, big bore carburettors and expansion chambers, thus equipped sounding very crisp indeed, with incredible 80mph performance and acceleration to match!
