The VN400 Vulcan Classic is about as handsome and well proportioned as a cruiser gets. This the 400cc version of the VN750, is almost entirely aimed at the lucrative Japanese cruiser market, that countries licensing laws favouring the 400cc capacity.
Its 33bhp engine is smooth and durable. Whilst the outright power is not going to set pulses racing, the surprisingly high torque of 32nm @ 4000 rpm more than compensates.
Although liquid cooled for quite running and durability, the engine looks ‘Air cooled’ maintaining that American cruiser look.
A fine handling double cradle frame coupled with Uni-Trak rear suspension, cleverly designed to look like a ‘hard tail’ complete the picture of one of Japans best 400cc cruisers.
