This super-fast 36bhp 350 twin launched by Yamaha in 1967 was the start of Yamaha becoming more serious about making larger capacity motorcycles than 250cc. Although fast the engine vibrated unpleasantly, and the chassis was not really up to the power, giving an unusual ride when pressing on around bends!
Yamaha however were quick to learn, and subsequent models were continually improved, culminating in the 350LC YPVS, a very different machine, but still tracing it’s roots back to this, the original YR1.
