info

Introduced as the replacement for the World beating RC30 in 1994, the RVF750 RC45, was, like the RC30, a road going Homologation limited edition to qualify it for racing in the World Super Bikes series. Like the RC30 before it, this was also a product from HRC, the racing wing of Honda.

Like it’s illustrious predecessor, the RC145 utilised a liquid cooled V4 engine, with the superbly engineered gear driven double overhead camshaft operation. The RC145 did have a number of vital differences from the earlier RC130, the most notable being electronic fuel injection and the gear driven camshaft drive being moved to the centre of the engine to allow a narrower profile.

In standard European spec the engine produced 118bhp @ 10500 RPM with unrestricted ECU. With the standard HRC race kit this increased to 148bhp @ 12500rpm.

This remains one of the rarest Honda’s ever made, in it’s peak race form in1999 it made close to 190bhp, with some enthusiasts and riders stating this to be the ‘Best Super-Bike machine ever’

Times have moved on, but who can forget that haunting offbeat exhaust note that defines one of the Greatest Honda’s of all time!
