Kawasaki KLX400 information
This model is a result of co-operation with Suzuki and is simply a bright green DR-Z400, and re-named the KLX400. The main difference is that the Kawasaki comes with only an electric start, a choice of electric and or kick being available on the Suzuki version.
In standard street and remarkably quiet form, this DOHC liquid cooled 40bhp machine is impressive both on tarmac and off-road, it’s 120kg dry weight instilling confidence and allows for dramatic acceleration. This performance ably matched by the high specification Showa cartridge damped 49mm forks and fully adjustable rear shock, both for re-bound and compression. A five-speed gearbox has beautifully matched ratios, suiting the torque characteristics of this engine to perfection.
